Music Can Change Your Mood

Think of a song that never fails to get you excited. Now think of one that is your go-to when you’re feeling down. How about a song you play when you just need a feel-good feeling? Or one that reminds you of a happy period of your life. Music can quite literally alter your mood. It can make you feel a wide range of emotions. It can also help you manage emotions you’re stuck in the middle of — like anxiety or stress.

There have been scientific studies that have shown that music can have very real physical and mental health benefits. It’s why more places in the healthcare industry (from therapy clinics to emergency rooms) are implementing different forms of music to help patients with things ranging from pain management and immune system function to soothing pediatric patients and reducing pre-surgery anxiety.

Scientists have even discovered that music can reduce the levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) in a person’s body and can even reduce anxiety by up to 65%! I’ve you’ve taken one of my breathwork classes you know I’m a big fan of using music alongside breathwork. I find it to be so calming and cathartic — and I think my clients would agree! If you’re a fellow music lover and want to experience what it’s like to integrate it into a breathwork practice, I invite you to enroll in my 7-Day program, Breathwork for Anxiety. It will provide you with all the tools you need to implement a breathwork practice that helps you manage your anxiety and reclaim a sense of calm in your life.
