EP 87: Why Doing Nothing is the Most Productive Thing You Can Do

EP 87: Why Doing Nothing is the Most Productive Thing You Can Do

This week, I took a step back from my usual routine and did something that I hadn’t done in a long time: I took three full days off. And I’m not talking about checking emails here and there or squeezing in a quick work task while I unwind. I took a real break. No computer, no work-related calls, just pure, uninterrupted rest. After finishing up the launch for my Dream Bigger Mastermind, I realized I needed to honor my body, my mind, and my spirit. And that meant stepping away to recharge.

Why Taking a Break is a Big Deal

You might be wondering, “What’s the big deal? It’s just a few days off.” Well, as a self-employed entrepreneur, it can sometimes feel like taking time off is a luxury we can’t afford. There’s always more to do, more ideas to bring to life, and more clients to serve. But let me tell you, taking time to rest is essential—and not just for our physical well-being, but for the health of our business and our soul.

During those three days, I immersed myself in activities that nourished me. On Friday, I went hiking in Palm Springs with a dear friend, surrounded by nature. Being out there in the oasis, with overcast skies and cool air, I felt my body come alive. Nature has a magical way of recharging us. Then on Saturday, I spent five blissful hours at Desert Hot Springs, soaking in hot tubs, chatting with a friend who’s also an entrepreneur, and just being present. I didn’t even think about creating content or taking pictures—something I normally can’t resist—but that’s when you know you’re really in the moment. And Sunday was a day of deep connection with my cat Max, as I went for an animal communication session to better understand his needs and traumas.

All of this was so needed. It was a reminder that in order to show up fully for our work and the people we serve, we must first show up for ourselves.

Why Retreats are the Ultimate Reset

Now, let’s talk about retreats. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m passionate about these. Retreats are not your typical vacation. While vacations often come with their own stresses—like deciding what to do next or where to eat—retreats offer a completely different energy. A retreat is about restoration, connection, and deep relaxation.

I host retreats for a reason: I know how transformative they can be. There are actual studies showing that even just a short break away from your daily stress can lower cortisol levels (the stress hormone) and improve your mood. The benefits can last weeks or even months. But here’s the thing: Unlike a vacation, a retreat doesn’t require you to make any decisions or handle anything. You simply show up, and all of your needs are taken care of. The environment, the schedule, and the people are all curated to support you in feeling rejuvenated.

I’ve been hosting retreats for over six years now, and the energy and transformation that takes place in just a few days never cease to amaze me. Our upcoming Sedona Soul Recharge Retreat in Sedona, AZ is going to be extra special. Why Sedona? It’s one of the most powerful, healing places in the world. The red rocks, the energy vortexes—it’s truly unlike anywhere else. You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, experience profound healing practices, and connect deeply with like-minded souls.

Retreat Details: A Time to Reconnect

If you’re feeling burnt out, stressed, or anxious, I invite you to consider joining us in Sedona this October for a five-day retreat experience. We’ll be doing new moon rituals to manifest your desires, gentle hikes to connect with the land, and healing work with local indigenous healers who will guide us through ancient practices. One of my favorite parts of the retreat is the time spent in the presence of a powerful community. I keep all of my retreats small, with only 12 spots available, to ensure an intimate and deeply connected experience.

Whether you’re struggling with decision fatigue, emotional exhaustion, or just need a reset, this retreat is the perfect opportunity for you to nurture yourself and remember the importance of giving yourself permission to rest. During our time in Sedona, we’ll hold space for your healing, so you can leave feeling grounded, inspired, and ready to step into the next chapter of your life and business.

Relax, Heal, and Recharge

I want to leave you with one thought today: When was the last time you gave yourself permission to truly rest and recharge? When was the last time you did something just for you, without guilt or hesitation? If you’re feeling burned out, like I’ve been in the past, a retreat may be the exact experience you need to regain clarity, creativity, and peace of mind.

If this sounds like what you’ve been craving, don’t wait. There’s only one private room left, and a limited number of shared rooms for five people. We’ve even created a 10-month payment plan to make the Sedona Soul Recharge Retreat accessible for you. Don’t wait too long, because these spots are filling up fast!

Take a moment today to reflect on your body and mind. What do you need right now to feel more connected, more aligned, and more at peace? You deserve it, and your future self will thank you. 💕
